The Florida Ballet is thrilled to be a recipient of a 1:1 Matching Grant from the Delores Barr Weaver Fund. The grant will match funds raised up to $50,000 to support programmatic growth at The Florida Ballet.
The Florida Ballet’s mission is to enrich and inspire the cultural landscape of our community through the education and art of classical ballet. To ensure our quality education and artistry is accessible to all, community performances and outreach programs continue to play a significant role in the exposure to dance to community members regardless of financial or geographical areas.
Thanks to the generosity of Mrs. Weaver, The Delores Barr Weaver Fund will match up to $50,000 given by new donors to The Florida Ballet through December 31, 2018. These funds will help to expand community educational programs such as in-school performances, after-school enrichment classes, artist in resident opportunities, community collaborations, and overall community performance offerings.
“We are truly grateful of the support and opportunity given to our organization from Mrs. Weaver and The Delores Barr Weaver Fund. We hope to introduce The Florida Ballet and its mission to many new donors over the upcoming months. In addition, this grant will help to build awareness of our programs and how they impact over 15,000 community members annually” said Martha Lemire, The Florida Ballet Executive Director.
