Janna Turner

Company Dancer

Janna Turner, originally from Eastern Kentucky, began her professional training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington, D.C. in 2014.

After a year at the school, she went on to continue her ballet education in Houston Ballet’s professional training program for two years. She then joined Cincinnati Ballet as an inaugural trainee program member, where she performed corps roles in notable works such as Victoria Morgan’s The Nutcracker, Septime Webre’s Peter Pan, George Balanchine’s Serenade and Walpurgisnacht, and Devon Carney’s The Sleeping Beauty.

Throughout the summers, Ms. Turner received a scholarship to train at Texas Ballet Theatre and was invited to dance in the Studio Training Company. She then continued to further her training and performance experience at De la Dance Company, where she performed soloist and corps roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, La Bayadere, Paquita, and Coppelia.

In 2022, she joined the Lexington Ballet Company and had the opportunity to perform numerous soloist and principal roles in classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works. This is Janna’s first season as a company member with the Florida Ballet
