Character Master Class with Peter Pawlyshyn:
Thursday, November 1, 2018
Intermediate/Advanced Dancers ages 12 and above
$25 for non Florida Ballet students and $15 for currently enrolled Florida Ballet students
Character dance is a stylized blend of both Classical ballet and folk dance and an integral part of Dance performance and training. We see character dance in major full-length ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and many others. Elements of character dance are also widely used in stylistic forms for many contemporary ballets. Participating students will learn and experience the stylistic differences of the Russian, Hungarian, Polish, and Gypsy techniques that are inherent in many ballets.
