The Florida Ballet is pleased to host Master Classes at our studios with elite choreographers and teachers from around the country.

Upcoming Master Classes Hosted by The Florida Ballet:

 Sunday, May 21st 2017: Carlos Garland Contemporary Workshop

Intermediate/Advanced Class (Ages 12+): Time (12-1:30 pm) - Fee: $25.00

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Class (Ages 8-11): Time (2-3 pm) - Fee: $20

Carlos Garland Bio:

Carlos Garland was born and raised in Jacksonville. Carlos is trained in and versatile with ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, breaking, lyrical, contemporary, improvisation, various world ethnic dances as well as acrobatics and martial arts. Carlos' has had an extensive dance career including; dancing with Rasta Thomas' Bad Boys of Dance, becoming a top 20 finalist on "So You Think You Can Dance" season 10, performing with the Broadway cast of "Spider-man Turn Off The Dark", and winning "Millie Lewis America's Models and Talent Competition" for dance.

Class Description: 

This class will be based on the ideals of and purpose behind movement. A discussion through movement/dance about the imagination and how controlling thoughts relates to ALL dancer’s journeys to becoming an Artist.

  • Prepare to be challenged in both levels
  • A brief warm-up (experience personal movement prior to arrival)
  • Phrases across the floor
  • A longer phrase of movement to challenge direction change, coordination, and thought.
