The Florida Ballet Training Center

“Striving for Excellence with Joy and Love for Dance”

The Florida Ballet Training Center is a program for the serious dance student. We are proud to offer the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.

Students enrolled at The Florida Ballet Training Center study dance education in a positive, nurturing atmosphere, focusing on strong technical training, balanced with proper work ethics. Potential experienced students, age 8 and above, must audition for class placement within the program. Class placement is based upon a combination of technical ability, previous experience, and age, and is the sole discretion of the Artistic Director.

Students ages 3-7 or novice to ballet training do not require a formal audition.

Classes for the 2019/20 School Year start on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Schedule and Registration Information for the 2019-2020 school year is now available.

The focus of these classes offers technique and movement specific to the male dancer. For the older more advanced male dancer, partnering classes are included in the curriculum.

Entrance into the Boy’s and Men’s classes is by audition and interview with the Artistic Director.

Young Dancers

First Steps: Young Dancer’s program at the Florida Ballet. Age appropriate classes are offered to encourage a young child’s natural instinct to move to music, physicality and coordination.

Pre-Primary Level: This program introduces 3 year old students to rhythm, coordination and creative movement. Pre-Primary Level is the first level of the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.

Primary A and B Levels:  These programs create a foundation for proper classical ballet training. The Primary classes are the continuation of the young dancer levels of the National Training Curriculum of American Ballet Theatre for students ages 4 - 7.
