Michael is from Modesto, California, where he started dancing at Steps Dance Art Center. He then moved to Juline Regional Youth Ballet, where he trained under David Arce until attending University of Utah and training with Christopher Alloways-Ramsay, Jay Kim, and Pablo Piantino. After a year at the University of Utah, Michael joined Idaho as an Apprentice. He has performed in ballets such as The Nutcracker, Valse Fantasies, Serenade, and Swan Lake. He also has had the pleasure of being a guest artist at Merced Academy of Dance, The New Ballet, North Coast Ballet, and Barlow Academy of Dance.
