SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer is a great opportunity to explore your passion for dance and enhance technique.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Roberto Forleo, The Florida Ballet offers programs designed for beginning, intermediate, and pre-professional levels.

Summer Intensive Collegiate, Upper Division, & Company Experience:

  • June 16th – 28th, Collegiate Summer Intensive

(ages 17+)

  • June 30th – July 26th, Upper Division Summer Intensive

Upper Division (ages 12 – 20)

  • July 14th – 26th, Company Experience

(ages 16+)

  • July 28th – August 2nd, Boy’s/Men’s Summer Intensive
    (ages 12 – 20)

The Florida Ballet’s Summer Intensive programs are designed for intermediate through pre-professional dancers. The program exposes students to a variety of styles and disciplines guided by a world class faculty. Students attend daily ballet technique, pointe class, men’s class, variations class, partnering, as well as, modern, contemporary, and jazz classes.

At the conclusion of this program, students who demonstrate exceptional talent, potential and commitment, may be invited to join The Florida Ballet Conservatory Program, a rigorous year-round pre-professional training program for aspiring young dancers.

Lower Division Summer Intensive

Summer Intensive dates:

June 30th – July 26th

Lower Division (ages 9+)

The Florida Ballet’s Summer Intensive Lower Division is designed as an introduction to more intensive training dedicated to young aspiring dancers in a positive, nurturing, and professional environment. Designed for dancers ages 9+ (must have one year of ballet training) the program will focus on the foundation of classical ballet technique with key elements of the ABT National Training Curriculum. The students will be exposed to a variety of disciplines including modern dance, jazz, conditioning, and repertoire.

Storybook Journeys Program

June 16th – 20th Storybook Journeys

(ages 5-8)

Storybook Journeys is a creative exploration of dance, music, and art for children ages 5-8. Young dancers embark on a multi-sensory tour of designated storybook themes while delving into their own creativity through the integration of dance, visual art, choreography, and music.

Introduction to ballet and creative movement allows students to build movement vocabulary, coordination, and strength. Daily crafts take students beyond the studio to create costume pieces, dance props, and other accessories that inspire artistic expression and imagination. Program meets M-F, 9am – 12 noon.

Young Dancer Programs

June 16th – July 26th

The Florida Ballet’s Young Dancer Summer Programs are the perfect way to keep your child moving, learning, and growing all summer long!

Open to the community and current Florida Ballet students, our summer sessions are designed for boys and girls ages 3-12, with beginner to intermediate levels available. Taught by our professional faculty using the ABT National Training Curriculum, each class nurtures creativity, coordination, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

Adult Summer Intensive

August 4th – 8th

The Adult Intensive is a program geared towards our teen-aged and adult students looking to further their dance training. All levels are welcome! Each day will include one ballet technique class, followed by either pointe/ pre-pointe, Pilates, contemporary, or repertoire.
